Feedback: Hartford School Food Service

Hartford School Food Service RAVES about FOODPLAY

We receive such beautiful feedback, but wanted to share this email written by Brunella Ibarrola, Nutrition Support Manager from Hartford, CT School District, who, along with Lonnie Burt, “Outstanding School Food Service Director of CT” wrote this after bringing FOODPLAY to their school district.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share a wonderful resource that many programs may not be familiar with: FOODPLAY.

This year we were fortunate enough to bring the live theater nutrition education program to some of our schools and I can’t say enough about what a positive experience it has been for our district. The positive reception that we have received has been phenomenal! (Across the board from students, parents and administrators!)

For those of you not familiar with their program, FOODPLAY provides fun-filled nutrition education through a wonderful theatrical performance that the children absolutely loved. Watching their reactions and seeing their faces was absolutely nourishing to the soul and a great reminder of why what we do every day is so very important!

Their message is pure and simple; encouraging children to improve their eating and physical activity habits.

Besides being an excellent program, they are an excellent return on investment, as they make a point of generating enthusiasm about school nutrition programs and promoting the great foods being served in the cafeteria.

During the show they encourage participation in the school breakfast and lunch programs. They also cover the new USDA regulations and support the changes that we have made in the program and supply handouts for the students to bring home to parents.

FOODPLAY is Emmy award winning program that is evidence based and very affordable. I found them to be very professional and a pleasure to work with and would encourage anyone looking for a positive promotional program to check them out at these links:
