We were thrilled to return to the University of Maryland – Baltimore yesterday, for the third year celebrating the Office of Strategic Initiatves and Community Partnerships “Kids to Farmer’s Market” program! This program sends public health students into 3rd grade classrooms to do a 45 minute health and nutrition workshop, and then brings the 3rd graders from the local schools to campus to shop at the farmers market using UMB Kids Bucks ($10 each). After a second nutrition workshop and healthy cooking demo, the program’s grand finale is a performance of FOODPLAY followed by lunch for all three schools on the UMB campus!
Thank you to the University for including us in this wonderful program – it’s an honor!
