Strategy #15: Try not to use food as a reward or punishment.
Giving sweets as a reward for consolation often confuses a child’s understanding of food and love, and may encourage kids to seek out food when unhappy, bored, or lonely. Try to provide a listening ear, hugs, or healthy attention instead.
