Hey peeps,
Welcome back! I’ve been working on eating more GO foods that are good for my body. Sure it’s been hard, but it’s always a good idea to build those healthy habits early on—just ‘cause we’re kids doesn’t mean we get a free pass.
Another big part of keeping healthy is being physically active. Exercise is important: it makes you strong and flexible, and it helps you sleep better and feel happier. And it works an important muscle: the heart!
It’s important to have a small snack before and after working out. Whole-wheat toast, yogurt, and fruit are all good for fueling up your body with a pre-exercise energy boost. After, you can eat some bananas, eggs, or nuts to help your body recover from your workout. So grab some water and get moving! Here are some of my favorite ways to get moving:
Walking – I love walking! It’s so simple and easy— put on your sneakers, grab a water bottle, and circle a park or your neighborhood.
Biking – When I feel like going fast and exploring, I hop on my bike. Check if there’s a bike path near you.
Swimming – July is hot! I like to cool down in the pool. You can play games, race your friends, and do some underwater handstands.
Juggling – Last but most definitely not least, my juggling! I love practicing my moves, and it helps my balance and flexibility!
Let me know what kind of movement and exercise you like, and don’t forget to have FUN while doing it!
Sweat you later,
Janey
