Hey peeps,
Today I have some really exciting news to help you through the hottest days of summer! I have perfected my top-secret family recipe…CHOCOLATE BANANA ICE CREAM!
This super-secret recipe has been in my family for generations. Legend has it that every juggler who uses it becomes better. So what have I been working on? Well, finding the perfect temperature, texture, and even the best type of milk to use.
Experimenting in the kitchen and trying new, healthier foods is so much fun. So grab your apron and an adult helper, and let’s scream for ice cream!
Ingredients:
-three or four ripe bananas
-your favorite milk (non-dairy milk works great too!)
-vanilla extract
-cinnamon
-cocoa powder
Directions:
Freeze the bananas overnight. In the morning, thaw for about an hour. Then peel and slice the bananas into small “coins” and press with a spoon to soften.
Once they are good and gooey, put the bananas into a blender or food processor. Add a few splashes of chilled milk, ¼ cup of cocoa, and a tiny bit of vanilla extract and cinnamon. Blend until creamy and thick.
When the ice-cream has the texture of pudding, pour it into a bowl you can put in the freezer. Add a honey swirl or sugar powder dusting over the top for decoration, and put the bowl in the freezer for at least three hours. Then, scoop and enjoy – but look out for brain freeze!
S’cream you later,
Janey
