Hi, ToBe Fit, Ace Food Detective here, answering your questions about fun ways to get up and move your body! I know, it’s been hard to go out and play with your friends, so here’s some fun ways I like to play during this crazy time of Covid! Maybe they’ll be fun for you too:
PS – you can download a fun Tracker Chart and put it up in your room to keep track of how much you move your body every day. Health experts say we should try for at least 1 hour a day to be physically active, but any amount is better than just being a couch potato, plus moving your body makes you feel happier and reduces stress! So let’s get up and Play! Find it here at:
1. I made a jar and called it – Bored out of my mind! And, then I wrote 15 fun things I can do when I’m bored on slips of paper, cut them out, folded them, and put them into the jar. Every time I’m bored, I reach into the jar and do what’s written on the slip of paper. It’s so much fun because it’s always a surprise! If you try this, please send me some of your favorite activities you wrote down so we can all share them!
2. Pick your favorite music and create a dance. Then, teach your family and do it together. If you want to be fancy, make a “how to” video to teach your moves to your friends!
3. Schedule a dance party at a certain time every day or every week. No matter what comes up, stop everything, and everybody – get up and dance!
4. Take a walk with your family as often as you can. Try to discover new things every time you go outside. How many new birds did you see, did you hear any neat bird sounds? How many different kinds of flowers can you see? Or weird insects? Can you take pictures and try to identify them when you get home? Can you find a street or house or building you never saw before?
5. Find some really fun fitness, dance, or yoga videos online that you can exercise to. Some neat ones can be found at:

And, for your older relatives, here’s an awesome website that has morning classes in stretching, tai chi, yoga, and fitness for seniors (but sometimes I’ll sneak on as well!)
OK, I hope you all get up and PLAY!
