Welcome to another FoodPlay Friday!
National Nutrition Month continues, and so does our daily celebration here at FoodPlay Productions! My personal favorite of our month’s activities so far is the launch of our latest T-shirt design, Eat Your Veggies!. The shirt has a terrific vintage look that’s been a real hit here in the office.
And don’t forget to check out Barbara’s bite-sized Hands-On Nutrition tips, posted every weekday for the month of March!
National Nutrition Month has made a visible impact in the healthy food blogosphere this week, including Mom’s Kitchen Handbook, Mommy Dietician, SuperKids Nutrition, Healthy Kids Challenge, Healthy Eats, and Nutrition Savvy (also offering up daily tips).
Also in the spirit of things, at Today I Ate a Rainbow!, Kia explores some less common fruits and veggies this week, including longans, persimmons, and purple peppers, while Amy at Super Healthy Kids tries out a sweet and sour grape smoothie. Veggie “chips” also seem to be a theme this week, including these brussels sprout chips from Inspired RD Alysa and these kale chips, sweet potato chips, & curried yukon gold chips from Healthy Eats‘ Robin. And over at Prevention RD, Nicole gets my mouth watering with some beautiful lentil tacos.
Over on the “play” side of things, Heather talks about the joys of tree-climbing (and other outdoor play) at the ActiveKidsClub, while another Heather shares some tips for making the most of food shopping with your kids at Quirky Momma’s Kids Activities Blog. Also from Quirky Momma (this time from Rebecca) is this great article on parent-child reading, which reminds us how important it is to feed our children’s brains and imaginations as well as their bodies!
That’s all for this week! See you next FoodPlay Friday!
