Welcome to another FoodPlay Friday!
First on today’s menu, we have some FOODPLAY show news to share! As we mentioned earlier in the week, our first fall troupe has hit the road. They’ll be spending a few weeks touring the Northeast, before heading out to the Midwest and Southwest later in the fall.
A great surprise for us this week was discovering this blog post from a teacher at one of Wednesday’s shows, sharing her classroom’s experience with FOODPLAY! “The students and I absolutely loved this play and we learned a lot of great health facts.” Thanks, Mrs. Pelletier!
The crisp fall weather brings out the foodie in everyone, and this week’s nutrition blogs have been absolutely filled with scrumptious-looking meals and snacks. At Super Healthy Kids, Amy shares her family’s recipe for Homemade Perfect Peach Yogurt. At The Weekly Bite, Estela hits two home runs with Crock-pot White Chicken Chili and Pumpkin Applesauce Mini Muffins. The Meal Makeover Moms got my mouth watering for California Avocado and Mango Chicken Salad. And Katie G. at Simple Bites shares her recipe for Butternut Squash and Apple Soup.
Also at Simple Bites, Aimee discusses a variety of one of our favorite fruits and its many uses, along with a healthy, kid-pleasing recipe for Maple Pecan Baked Apples.
If your kids are interested in a challenge this week, Healthy Kids Challenge winds down their “Fruits & Veggies-More Matters Month” with the lowdown on a couple of Kids’ Contests for Making Half Your Plate Fruits and Vegetables. And at Healthy Child Healthy World, Lori Popkewitz Alper shares ideas for October 5th’s Walk To School Challenge.
That’s all for this week! See you next FoodPlay Friday!
