Welcome to another FoodPlay Friday!
After a Friday off for the Thanksgiving holiday, there’s a lot to catch up on in the blogosphere this week! First, in FOODPLAY show news, one of our troupes recently spent a week performing for schools in Boulder, Colorado, thanks to “Renegade Lunch Lady” Chef Ann Cooper. You can read all about it at The Lunch Box, and be sure to check out the site‘s “Healthy Tools For All Schools.”
Also, don’t miss the latest from on-the-road blogger Joseph Bromfield, as he chronicles his troupe’s New England adventures!
As temperatures fall over much of the nation, bloggers have hot soup on their minds. Check out this Kale and Vegetable Soup with Farro from the Meal Makeover Moms, these three delicious soups made from Thanksgiving leftovers from Dana Angela White at the Food Network’s Healthy Eats blog, this Slow-Cooked Turkey Chili from sherimiya at Happy Little Bento, some Southwestern Turkey Soup from Inspired RD Alysa, and a Butternut Squash Soup with Maple Croutons by way of Joanna at Kids Cook Monday.
For a little something on the side, Amy at Super Healthy Kids offers up this Zesty Garden Pea Pasta and a kid-pleasing Spinach Poppy Seed Salad. At Fix Me a Snack, Cindy suggests this sweet Honey Salad, while Prevention RD Nicole makes sure we get our veggies with her Roasted Root Vegetable Salad.
If you’re looking for some food-related gift ideas, Aimee at Simple Bites shares her Top 10 Cookbook Picks for the year. And at the Jolly Tomato, Jeanne Ponessa Fratello picks out ten Great Gifts for Kid Chefs.
That’s all for this week! See you next FoodPlay Friday!
